Privacy Policy

The Applied Probability Trust (APT) is committed to protecting the confidentiality of all personal information relating to its contributors, customers and readers. The APT takes all reasonable steps to comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 within its domain appliedprobability.org.

The APT in pursuing its publishing and business activities may collect individualised personal data such as name, electronic address, postal address, telephone or fax number and institutional affiliation, and financial information such as credit card or bank account numbers. It may supply customer data to its suppliers and providers of goods and services to facilitate delivering its products and services to customers.

The APT does not make postal mailing lists or email address lists available to outside organisations. The APT will only disclose identifiable personal information to third parties when required by law, or for legitimate purposes under such circumstances as the Trustees consider necessary in the interests of the Trust.

Postal and email addresses of authors may be published in print and online publications of the APT according to established publishing practice. Authors on acceptance of their paper are asked to state whether their email address may be made available on request to interested readers.

The APT and the online archive organisations, Project Euclid and JSTOR, may collect non-personal individual data, such as IP address, in relation to online content supplied by the APT. This is used only for administrative purposes in monitoring online usage and access to restricted sites.
